Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in residential and commercial buildings.
- Conduct site surveys to gather design criteria for fire alarm system components.
- Program and test fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, including diagnosing and repairing faulty components.
- Collaborate with customers to customize fire alarm system settings based on their specific needs.
- Keep accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in fire alarm system technology.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the fire alarm industry is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with NFPA (70, 72, and 101) requirements for fire alarm system installation and testing
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for alarm system installation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and specialized equipment for installation and repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems.
- Ability to detect and resolve problems with cabling and wiring connections.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics for fire alarm systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
