Name of the position : Logistics Procurement Specialist (Fixed term 7 months)
Location : Bogotá, Colombia
Type of Contract : Temporal - 6 months
About the role :
The incumbent of the role will have responsibilities related to the execution of sourcing activities, analyzing performance, generating information, and keeping close communication with logistics partners, 3PL, and carriers, among other ad hoc assigned activities.
Manage risk with associated mitigation plans. Vetting potential suppliers prior to awarding business as a result of the tendering process.
Manage contracts and adhere to purchasing policy. Lead suppliers and project implementation plan E2E.
The logistics category in LAC and Tequila accounts for 5 Diageo markets : Mexico, Brazil, Colombia CCA (Central America and Caribbean), and SouthLAC, split in subcategories such as Transport, Warehousing, Custom Agents, Ocean Freight, and Warehousing materials.
Principal functions :
Prioritize project execution, driving value to achieve and exceed targets agreed with the business.
Establish and maintain governance process for the category among project management implementations. Build successful supplier relationships.
Deliver the best total value by improving cost and cash towards maintaining or improving levels of service by tendering, contract negotiation, and contract adherence to secure commercial agreements executions.
Provide market and industry insights for developing the procurement strategy.
Will have to interact with different internal and external partners and work as a phenomenal teammate to achieve the business / department outcomes.
Support the execution of the logistics category strategy across markets in LAC region.
Support to achieve / exceed performance targets agreed with the strategy
Maintain governance proof.
Align SPM / SRM plans, holding suppliers accountable for the delivery of those plans.
Monthly tracking of financial governance to report savings to the business.
Manage project management tools to standardize project execution and prioritization.
Work towards meeting Spirit of Progress objectives. Related to carbon emission reduction, diversity and inclusion, and positive drinking.
Experience required / Skills / Capabilities / Languages :
Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, Engineering, or related field.
MBA or other post-graduate work in international trade, logistics, and / or operations is a plus.
Fluent in English is required. and Spanish is a significant plus.
Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain experience. Procurement and logistics are a plus.
Highly organized attention to detail and hands-on attitude.
Good planning and organization skills.
Proactive, self-starter, Status quo challenger.
Analytical and data mining skills are required to analyze business cases, economic proposals, and cost structure, among others.
Project Management skills.
Excel, Coupa CSO knowledge, and vendor management issue resolution.
Good influencing skills and personal impact with senior partners.
Strong commercial competence and understanding of the business and environment.
Good capability to participate in cross-functional projects.
Experience leading teams is a plus.
