Job Description*
*The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager to run the day-to-day restaurant operations, can jump into any position, and provides leadership and business management. The assistant manager is also primarily responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction. General responsibilities have been broken down into five categories: Standards, Reports, Team Members, Business Management, and Critical Assistant Manager Responsibilities. .

Standards
- Exceed guest expectations in-store and out
- Know and understand all of Dickey’s Standards and ensure that they are followed
- Honestly and accurately complete Core Ops Forms
- Become Barbecue University certified
- Become ServSafe certified
- Achieve the highest level of cleanliness
- Create a warm environment
- Perform A caterings
- Maintain the catering binders and catering board
- Ensure that recipes are correctly followed
- Ensure that meat and pantry preparation is performed consistently
- Work on the line as needed, which may require standing for long periods of time and can be stressful during busy periods
- Maintain a clean and organized store
- Answer phone calls the Dickey’s way
- Assist the store manager to perform 10 hours of community marketing per week
- Perform table touches
- Ability and willingness to perform well in any position
- Keep a professional appearance
Reports
- Assist the store manager with store reports:
- Core Forms
- Monthly Sales Report
- Nightly Reports
- Catering binders
- Vehicle Mileage and Maintenance Log
- Till and deposit forms
Team Members
- Assist the store manager to:
- Recruit, interview, and hire team members
- Train team members to know their position responsibilities and Dickey’s Standards
- Hold team members accountable to their position responsibilities and Dickey’s Standards
- Develop team members to advance within the company
- Perform shift meetings
- Perform random visits and audits to ensure that the team is performing up to expectations
- Ensure that team members’ work is complete before they leave
Business Management
- Report to and coordinate with store manager regularly
- Work closely and be transparent with Franchise Owner
- Assist the store manager to:
- Maintain the labor % objective
- Maintain COGS % objective
- Maintain other objectives as directed
- Ensure that tills, petty cash, and deposits are accurate
- Make a daily deposit
- Perform inventory when assigned by store manager
- Place food orders when assigned by the store manager
- Have a sense of ownership of responsibilities and of the store

Critical Assistant Manager Responsibilities
- Manage the Training Program for all individuals to ensure personal growth, professionalism, teamwork, and most importantly, Guest Service
- Supervise and participate in Community Marketing and event planning, including analyzing breakeven, tracking marketing efforts, and performing catering follow ups
- Assist with the schedule on a weekly basis, with help from the General Manager
