What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Warehouse position at Dietz & Watson, Inc.?
- Primary duties include receiving, storing and distributing dry goods such as packaging materials, ingredients, and other dry storage goods to departments on an as needed basis.
- Loading and unloading of freight trucks, picking supply orders from stock, organizing and storing products in designated storage areas, stacking products on pallets or hand trucks per designated schedules.
- Manually lifts and moves products, restocks and repacks of products ensuring accurate storage and product rotation.
- Stages completed pallets in designated areas for delivery.
- Adheres to product picking and delivery schedules to ensure products are delivered in a timely manner to meet demands of manufacturing.
- Operates material handling equipment per company policies and safety standards (i.e., forklifts, pallet jacks, high reach, etc.).
- Conducts physical inventories and cycle counting to ensure availability of products and reorder points.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy, demonstrates attention to detail, and accurately records all warehouse transactions according to standard policies and procedures.
- Maintains business confidentiality relative to pricing, promotions, distribution methods, and inventory.
- Maintains housekeeping ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Supports and promotes safety in the workplace including but not limited to maintaining equipment and work area free from hazard, and reports any unsafe condition or behavior to management per company policies and procedures.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities and safety programs.
- Assists and supports management in all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Maintains a positive attitude and flexibility to react to demands of production.
- Other duties as needed and assigned by management.
- Must be certified to operate material handing equipment (i.e., forklifts, pallet jacks, high reach, etc.).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Must be reliable, punctual and have excellent attendance.
- Must adhere to good manufacturing practices, established safety rules, guidelines and company policies.
- Must present a positive attitude and focusing on providing the best possible customer service to production departments.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet productivity demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift to 50 lbs repetitively. The employee is required to use both hands fingers, grasp; and reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk and hear. The employee must frequently move pallets of product weighing up to 2000 pounds utilizing various material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, high reach, etc.).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, refrigerated areas of approximately 38 degrees, and damp and wet floors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary : $33,600 - $42,500
