MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
The Maintenance Specialist conducts electro– mechanical machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the packaging and production machines as well as the facility maintenance in conformance with the company’s established policies and procedures. He/she reports to the Manufacturing and Distribution Operations Manager
2. Maintains sufficient inventories of tools, parts and supplies in order to properly maintain the facility.
3. Maintains systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventive maintenance work performed is accurate and timely, maintains warehouse supplies and maintenance parts inventories.
4. Creates a list of materials, parts, etc., by quantity and type that are required to perform the work requested and requisitions the material
5. Keeps storage and shop areas in a neat, well-stocked, clean and in an organized manner.
6. Works closely with the Manufacturing and Distribution Operations Manager to regularly inspects facility for safety and security issues, including, but not limited to non-functioning lights, ground and trip hazards, exposed wiring and other safety and security issues as needed.
7. Ensures adherence to customer service standards. Works with all departments to ensure that maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that proper follow-through is done.
8. Regularly inspects facility and ensures required maintenance and repairs are completed, as necessary (i.e., spin welders, extrusion lines).
9. Completes facility maintenance tasks and responds to service requests. Repairs and maintains plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other repairs as required or sources the appropriate contractor.
10. Ensures outside contractors are qualified and reviews all completed work. Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing and Distribution Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated skills to complete work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize work
EDUCATION
- Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent plus some specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management, or a closely related field.
- 2 years of related experience in packing machines/production machines.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Current state of California Driver’s License.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.'
