Role - HR Benefits and Compliance Specialist
Location – Princeton, NJ (Hybrid role)
Responsibilities
· Manages the day-to-day operations of the company’s health and wellness programs in the U. S. (directly) and with help of the HR Consulting Partners in Mexico, Colombia, and Canada
· Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Helps define processes to coordinate the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. Investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
· Maintains employee health and welfare benefit information in the system(s) of records
· Handles benefit inquiries and issues to ensure quick and thorough resolution.
· Administers the day-to-day aspects for the 401(k) plan to ensure third-party administrators follow ERISA and IRS guidance
· Develops and delivers short- and long-term recommendations to ensure benefit programs meet the needs of a diverse workforce, while maintaining compliance with all legal requirements.
· Ensures benefit programs are aligned with corporate strategies and objectives.
· Manages the open enrollment process including RFPs, vendor coordination and preparation and muti channel communication strategy and execution.
· Assists in the design, implementation, communication, and administration of affordable and competitive benefit programs to attract and retain employees.
· Oversees wellness strategies for health improvement across the organization.
· Develops processes and procedures for leave administration and educating HRBPs on best practices to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state leave regulations.
· Primary company contact with vendor benefit providers on day-to-day issues and troubleshooting and acts as liaison between the company, company employees and third-party vendors to resolve escalated issues.
· Partners with external vendors to conduct annual discrimination testing, plan audits and ensure government filings are prepared timely
· Stays current on changing state and federal compliance and HR policy changes and provides necessary updates, education, and process changes
· Participates in due-diligence exercise as part of acquisition efforts and leads benefits integration efforts post-acquisition
· Liaison with Finance regarding payments to various vendors
· Maintain and strengthen working relationship with benefits broker and consulting team
· Carry out informal benchmarking initiatives to track metrics for improvement and champion initiatives to enhance employee experience
· Manage and administer FMLA and /or other leave related functions
· Manage termination process as it relates to benefits compliance and administration
· Ensure employee handbooks for all geos are up to date and comprehensive
· Strengthen reporting and data analytics for the function – monthly dashboards and reports
· Collaborate with and train Payroll, Finance, Associate Relations, and HR Shared Services teams on matters of Benefits and Compliance for operational efficiency and effectiveness
· Liaison with Legal for proactive or reactive resolutions

Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in human resources and SHRM certified
· Knowledge al all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, HIPAA, and social security and DOL requirements
· A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the human resources, specifically benefits administration and HR compliances management.
· Advanced knowledge of MS Office specifically intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
