Summary/Objective of Position:
Provides quality coaching and instruction to students participating in the college rodeo program; develops, implements, and teaches subjects related to the rodeo program. Enforces safety regulations and procedures through supervision of students, and exhibits professional conduct.
Description of Essential Functions of the Position

Plans, directs, and coaches an intercollegiate men's and women's rodeo team. Develops student athletes to their full potential while being regionally competitive according to set standards; scouts rodeo team members and assists the Athletic Director in the recruiting process.
Supervises and coordinates the Dine College Rodeo, including: attending, scheduling rodeo team practices, attending NIRA Grand Canyon Region rodeos and College National Finals Rodeo; Coordinates and ensures rodeo arena is maintained.
Provides ongoing oversight of student athlete's conduct both in and out of the classroom, assists with conflict resolution; provides guidance with negotiating campus processes such as registration, financial aid, residence life; assists with developing a positive interpersonal relationship including campus integration with other students and faculty
Assists in developing the rodeo program annual budget, monitors expenditures, develops and implements a successful fund raising plan to meet program needs, goals, and objectives.
Rodeo Coach will be the Rodeo Club Sponsor for the Academic Year.
Works with students in academics, Students are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to participate in College Rodeos. Coach will assist in monitoring class progress and intervene when necessary by implementing study hours and mandating tutoring.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
1 year Experience in Coaching a Rodeo Team at the Collegiate Level
Preferred:
Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be aquired.
Knowledge:
Provides quality assessment of rodeo program and provides guidance.
Working knowledge of Exercise in Rodeo Sport Science and Physiology
Provides clear, instructive, and engaging supervision of student athletes
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and public relation skills
Demonstrate commitment to comply with the NIRA and other college rules and regulations
Demonstrate commitment to the academic success of student athletes
Abilities:
Makes safety a priority
Possesses basic knowledge and training skills.
Build Physical strength and Stability
Boost confidence in Student Athletes
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:
Must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds,
With stand the harsh weather such as cold and heat.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must he able to handle livestock
Other Requirement(s):
Drives License, Speaks Navajo
