General Description
The purpose of this job intermediate administrative support work, answering the telephone and greeting visitors, providing general information to the public, typing documents, preparing and maintaining files and records, registering customers for activities, processing payments for activities and rental fees, supervising the recreation center, recreation programs and private events and related work.
This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

Serves as the receptionist, greets visitors, citizens and customers; provides information; assists the public with the completion of registrations, reservations, applications, etc.; directs visitors to appropriate party.

Performs general administrative tasks including receiving and responding to inquiries and complaints; answering the telephone and sending and receiving email correspondence.

Enters a variety of records into the computer system; updates information in the system database; performs address and telephone number changes to history files.

Prepares routine and special reports that pertain to recreation facilities.

Files and maintains records for recreational activities.

Inventories and orders office supplies.

Receives, sorts, and delivers mail and supplies.

Operates a variety of standard office equipment.

Assures proper handling of funds for any fees collected and tabulates the daily money reconciliation.

Assists with facilitating the organization of programs and activities.

Tracks daily attendance numbers for recreation centers, program classes and events.

Manages and supervises recreation facility during evening programs, classes and events.

Creates and designs room diagrams.

Sets-up and breaks down table and chair arrangements in facility for events.

Oversees and assists in facility cleaning.

Secures recreation building.

Performs related work as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by six (6) months of customer service and office support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
