What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Representative position at Direct Wire?

Direct Wire & Cable is currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our Power division. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is an exciting new opportunity to join our growing, strategic and innovative team.

**Must have Power and/or cable & wire experience**

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, create long-term relationships with our customers and exceed sales goals.

Our Power division produces and distributes power cables for various industries and applications. This is a remote position that will require frequent travel around the Gulf Coast up to 50% of the time for business purposes. Travel to Denver, PA or Lancaster, PA will be infrequent, but may be necessary for essential meetings and strategy sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Own full sales cycle from researching accounts to closing business.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with new and current customers.
  • Identify client needs and opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and proposals.
  • Assist in establishing account strategy.
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Direct Wire products as well as competitor products and industry trends to drive opportunities.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other tools to manage the pipeline and achieve sales goals.
  • Attend and assist at necessary trade shows and events.
  • Assist in establishing sales quotes, credit terms, and sales contracts.
  • Manage the communication between key customers and in the internal Direct Team to ensure systems, processes, and business objectives are achieved.
  • Collaborate with key decision makers to identify opportunities and develop ideas that deliver sales results.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to meet with current and prospective customers to present our products and services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in B2B sales and/or customer relations.
  • 2-3 years’ experience managing customer accounts and delivering customer focused solutions with a focus or background in power generation.
  • Prior experience leveraging and maintaining a CRM platform to manage sales pipeline.
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate (both written & verbal) with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and a self-starter.
