What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Manager position at Discover Books?
*BILINGUAL PREFERRED / ENGLISH & SPANISH*
Shift: Monday - Friday / 8:00am - 4:30pm
Role and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Oversee a team of drivers and all aspects of the market
- Attend weekly management meetings
- Determine the best strategies for collecting high quality books in large quantities from target areas
- Identify, establish, & maintain additional supply relationships
- Perform community outreach
- Partner with local non-profits or charities to establish donation relationships
- Obtain referrals for supply from existing suppliers & stakeholders
- Act as point-of-contact for book & bin inquiries, questions, and concerns
- Conduct some outside sales (B2B)
- Manage assets & assign driver daily routes
- Manage invoices, orders, reports, inventory, etc.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales and/or Marketing
- At least 2 years of management experience
- Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles
- Must be willing to travel within a 200-300-mile radius of the facility to obtain new bin locations, build new relationships with libraries & thrift stores to purchase material, and follow up with current clients
- Computer savvy; Efficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication & negotiation skills, verbal and written
- Organized with attention to detail, Strong multi-tasking skills
- Self-starter – must be able to work efficiently with little to no supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
