Job Duties and Responsibilities
Dish Wireless is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager of Data Engineering to join our dynamic team. As the Manager of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data engineering infrastructure and systems. You will play a critical role in managing a team of data engineers and ensuring the efficient and accurate processing, storage, and analysis of large-scale data sets. In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth and development.
- Develop and implement data engineering strategies and roadmaps aligned with Dish Wireless's business objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
- Ensure the efficient processing, storage, and availability of large-scale data sets, while maintaining data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and develop scalable solutions.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Define and enforce data engineering best practices, coding standards, and data governance policies.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve data processing efficiency.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data engineering services.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
As a successful Manager of Data Engineering, you will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing a team of data engineers or similar roles.
- Strong expertise in data engineering, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive).
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary Range
Compensation: $87,500.00/Year - $125,000.00/Year

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
