The Retention Marketing team is responsible for increasing customer value and retention. We implement strategies and tactics throughout the customer lifecycle to enhance the customer journey and UX.

The Marketing Manager II role will lead a team responsible for building, launching and measuring communications to support the customer throughout their lifecycle and to meet critical business objectives.
Lead a team of digital marketing leads responsible for developing and deploying email and SMS campaigns to support retention marketing objectives- Manage influx of projects by assigning projects and confirming timelines and deliverables
- Ensure campaigns are coded and executed according to industry best practices and team standards to drive optimal delivery, engagement and response rates
- Improve team’s ability to utilize dynamic data to increase personalization
- Leverage API technologies to increase triggered message capabilities
- Recommend enhancements to tools and processes to increase capabilities for automation and personalization
- Partner w/IT to manage Email Service Provider (ESP) and manage ongoing vendor performance and projects
- Escalate system or platform issues and provide leadership to identify best solution
- Lead development of RFPs for vendors
- Implement testing strategies to optimize customer engagement and overall campaign performance
- Define ESP platform enhancements and other system support needed from ESP vendor, IT, Legal and other internal Dish teams
- Collaborate within Retention Marketing team and across teams including creative, web and IT to develop, execute and measure results
- Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM
- Train and develop team members
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
- 5 years experience in leading email marketing for B2C brand(s)
- Deep understanding of email marketing best practices, including deliverability, list management, segmentation, and automation
- Experience managing email marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Responsys or Marketo
- Experience in marketing automation best practices
- Strong analytical skills and experience in using data to inform decisions

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience managing a team, providing leadership, guidance, and support - Strong understanding of email marketing regulations and compliance, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM
- Proficient in HTML/CSS and Adobe Dreamweaver
