Responsibilities
The Executive Director, Product Management is responsible for Product Management for all VOD Distribution systems in the TWDC ecosystem including the setting of industrial standards through partnership with external governing bodies, and working with internal partners on Materials Ingest, Asset Management, Metadata and Artwork Packaging, Asset Delivery, and Asset Metadata Tagging. Responsibilities include:
Mentor and grow the careers of product managers and product management leaders
Partner with people from many disciplines, including user experience designers, asset creation experts, application engineers, data scientists, and user interface teams
Lead the modernization and consolidation of our asset and metadata workflows
Define best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
Build relationships and partnerships with teams across the company, align on strategy, vision, execution and enablement
Help turbocharge a rigorous data culture using quantitative and qualitative measures tied to user expectations to assess all current and future investments focusing on business impact, user satisfaction and total cost of ownership
Foster an inclusive environment where teams and big ideas can flourish
Partner with other product teams to design forward looking products that break silos and span teams
Metadata and Schedule delivery for Live and Linear broadcast data.
Basic Qualifications
Experience managing a team of Product Managers and Engineers or experience partnering closely with an Engineering team as a leader of a Product Manager team.
Highly collaborative leader with the ability to partner with and work across multiple stakeholders, operational teams, and technical organizations.
Participates within industry standards bodies such as the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), SMPTE, EIDR, and DPP and helps set and implement standards.
Expert understanding of SMPTE 2067, MovieLabs, EMA Avails, and implementing custom fulfillment integrations with large global platforms and international broadcasters.
Expert understanding of content distribution requirements based on content life cycle management for theatrical, broadcast, and direct-to-consumer workflows. Inclusive of requirements for forensic watermarking, viewership watermarking (C3/C7/Nielson), and the relationships to scheduling, rights, title metadata, and other ancillary assets (images, bonus, trailers, etc…).
Expert understanding of content distribution requirements as they relate to different lines of business (i.e. first run broadcast, MVPD, international broadcast sales, SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, EST, and DTC).
Experience with Live to VOD workflow requirements
Experience with linear broadcast scheduling, metadata, and content requirements
Experience working within a studio, post-production facility, and streaming platform/modern broadcast facility a plus.
Expert comprehension regarding file formats, resolution, dynamic range, frame rates, audio asset types, images, alpha channels, and the use and conversion between various combinations as they relate to asset management, transcoding, and distribution.
Experience creating and managing specifications for a content creator and/or aggregator.
Expert comprehension of asset management, validation, Quality Control, transcoding, packaging, transport and media metadata attributes to drive supply chain workflows for the distribution of content at scale.
Must be able to form strong working relationships with external content suppliers, internal operations teams, and downstream content recipients.
Ability to research, learn, assess, and evangelize new technologies/methodologies
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Driven and self-motivated
12 years relevant industry and management experience
10 years experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise level digital supply chain solution that supports any line of business for a major content creator or aggregator.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $241,500 to $323,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
