Disney Publishing Worldwide seeks a highly creative and detail-oriented Editor to work on a variety of Marvel children’s books, including fiction, nonfiction, and novelty books based upon Marvel content.
The ideal candidate will work closely with members of Marvel Press, as well as Marvel Entertainment, including the editorial teams, art & design departments, marketing & publicity, global teams, and licensees to create high quality, age-appropriate content.
The Editor will report to the Executive Editor, Marvel Press. Scope of work includes full editorial responsibility—from creative concept through to publication—on approximately15 - 25 titles (vertical and licensed) per season.

Responsibilities :
- Works Marvel editorial and franchise teams to strategize, develop, edit, and project manage vertical and global feature and franchise content with attention to quality and schedule.
- Edits and assists on 15-25 vertical titles per season (picture books, storybooks, 8x8s, readers, storybook collections, novelty, etc)
- Works closely with sales and marketing to promote books and make sure their needs are met.
- Oversees the pick-up of global and vertical assets by licensees.
- Reviews licensee submissions in OPA—to ensure quality and accuracy to characters, story, and environment.
- Builds and curates solid relationships with authors/filmmakers/studio/licensees/artists/designers to create high-quality Marvel content.
Basic Qualifications :
- 5 years related work experience
- Minimum three years experience in licensed publishing
- Comprehensive knowledge of children’s publishing
- Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities along with careful attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with current marketplace and publishing trends
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point and Adobe
- Experience in creating and managing digital content such as apps, e-books, and enhanced e-books a plus
- Knowledge of the Marvel franchises a plus
