Substitute Classroom Teacher Aide (Special Education) Building: All
This is an as needed position and the indiviudal will earn $13.00 per hour. Persons applying for this position must have a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate; they must have or be willing to obtain a State of Ohio Department of Education Teacher Aide Permit, along with the Highly Qualified Requirement of the No Child Left Behind. Persons applying for this position may need additional training to meet requirements for Step Up to Quality and the Early Childhood Education Grant. Teacher Aide experience would be helpful.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assists the classroom teacher with students.
- Individual and small group tutorial work.
- Supervises the movement of students to and from class, lunch, bus, building and grounds.
- Collects, processes, and distributes learning materials.
- Maintains non-confidential records of all kinds.
- Assists the teacher in supervision of students during outside activities such as recess and field trips.
- Follow student IEP (individualized education plan) per teacher, building administrator and Director of Student Services direction.
- Assists the teacher in any other duties, which will be helpful to the teacher in providing a good educational program.
- Assists related service providers, (i.e., OT, PT, APE, Speech, etc.) with the provision of their service upon request.
- Maintain confidential information regarding counseling.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the principal and/or teacher.

NOTE:
This aide position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate. The aide will need to pass a B.C.I. & a F.B.I. check, and Para Pro test.
The aide shall hold an Ohio Educational Aide permit as defined in section 3319.088 ORC.
