The Wireless Router Test Engineer is responsible for the development and engineering activities supporting Wireless Router technologies This candidate plays a key role in evaluating new technologies and services prior to the integration and deployment into Client network The Wireless Router development Engineer creates strategic test plans that ensure performance and stability of Wireless Router products in Client network ensuring the highest levels of customer and operational satisfaction Technologies you will be supporting include 802.11xyz and WiFi6E You will collaborate with Network Architects and Product Development on business and technology requirements and assess vendor solutions to address the requirements You will work with Network Architects to create detailed test plans and certification curriculums, proof of concept trials, and methodologies for analysis of performance criteria You will develop test procedures for execution by cross-functional teams of device testers in external labs Oversee the execution of these tests, provide testing status to management, debug software and hardware issues in a lab environment, and work with device vendors to track and resolve issues found during testing
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Should have excellent knowledge of Commercial/Private Wi-Fi Routers Excellent knowledge of IEEE standards 802.11xyz, Wi-Fi Alliance, FCC Experience developing automation utilizing, C, Bash, JavaScript and/or Python programming languages Experience with Wireless manufacturers, network equipment vendors, and/or chipset vendors a plus Should have knowledge of various Network adjuncts and services i.e. AAA, Diameter, EAP, WPA2/3, TCP/IP, DOCSIS 3.x , Ethernet Must have experience creating detailed Problem reports on Jira or any other similar Problem Report system Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools as WiFi analyzers and packet sniffers Experience with testing and Q/A of Layer 1 thru 7 networks Experience writing and developing detailed test cases and test plans Experience with network test equipment, such as Octoscope, iPerf3, Anritsu, Keysight / Ixia, Spirent, R&S, Spectrum Analyzers, Site Survey Planning tools, and Traffic Generators Must possess expert skills and experience with desktop operating systems and applications (Windows, MAC, Unix/Linux) Strong work ethic with a desire to meet and exceed personal and business goals Expert level communication, documentation, teamwork skills Self-motivated to take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables Experienced technical writing skills sufficient to produce white papers, test cases, test plans, design documents, and technical diagrams Ability to work both in a team and independently on assigned projects Strong documentation, follow-up, communication skills Learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies Must be able to think outside-the-box and exercise innovation Ability to work with little supervision to execute highly technical and complex tasks Organized with a strong attention to detail Possesses strong analytical skills Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience Professional level certification or equivalent work experience Related Work Experience
