POSITION: Account Manager
LOCATION: Columbia, MD
TRAVEL: 60% - local travel in Baltimore Metro area
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, normal business hours

JOB SUMMARY:
- The Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining favorable relationships with existing clients in order to increase revenue, in addition to maintaining a strong connection between company and staff.
- Ensure that organizational goods and/or services consistently meet and exceed client needs.
- Responsibilities include overseeing the project/account staff for assigned accounts.
- Directly responsible for conducting the personnel management functions for the assigned accounts with guidance from HR.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales and Marketing
- Conduct face to face meetings with company employees, subcontractors, and clients
- Identify and track new opportunities for existing clients
- Participate in sales and marketing opportunities as necessary
- Participate in opportunities to learn about technical initiatives aligned with company strategy
Company
- Provide updates to Management on account/project status
- Ensure adherence to all contract requirements and receipt of all project/account deliverables
- Approve account/project invoices
- Responsible for account and/or project time and expense approvals
- Responsible for sustaining and renewing client contracts
Management
- Act as liaison between company and staff primarily located at client site
- Ensure that client's needs and expectations are exceeded
- Responsible for assigned staff adhering to contract terms
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients and strategic partners
- Ensure all open positions are filled in a timely manner
Personnel Management
- Develop strategic staff training needs & recommend individual training courses
- Interview and recommend hiring new employees
- Conduct employee evaluations based on company policies
- Provide problem analysis and conflict resolution when needed for assigned account staff
- Ensure proper reporting structure and effective communications
- Provide client management for staff assigned to projects/contracts
- Provide guidance and direction for all assigned account staff
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-4 years of resource management experience required
- 1-2 years of state or federal contract management experience strongly desired
- Ability to establish partnering opportunities
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with clients, contractors, recruiters, applicants, company employees
- Work independently, without hands-on supervision
- Detail oriented
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- General understanding of Information Technology
