Day to day
As a Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for completing reporting requests and creating performance summaries that will originate from ad hoc reporting requests from the Reporting Inbox or from a standard agreed upon reporting package. You will need to engage with customers proactively to clarify requirements and optimize the usefulness of the reports while also learning more about the mechanics of the departments being served. You will be expected to utilize Power BI to access data to extract data from the Data Warehouses and other source systems by becoming familiar with the fields and tables that store the unique data to be extracted.
US Des Moines or US Wayne locations with 2 days a week in the office (Hybrid)
- Utilize Power BI to build meaningful reporting solutions.
- Self-validate reporting output by reviewing system or by doing a sensibility review by reviewing same results compared to previous time period.
- Utilize Power BI visuals to create graphs showing trends of data provided
- Manipulate data and format data efficiently using Power BI with a goal of summarizing data
- Complete accurate, timely, and properly formatted ad hoc and standardized reporting requests
- Achieve turnaround time requirements for ad hoc and standard reporting requests
- Work collaboratively with internal or external customers to properly clarify their requirements and objectives
- Provide supporting data for departmental Dashboard reporting
- Participates in and/or leads interdepartmental projects
- Perform continual maintenance on Operational Dashboards and KPI Database due to changes in customer needs
- Train team members on business practices and technical processes and provides on-going coaching to less experienced Analysts
Essentials
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Experience in the Financial Services industry is preferred, but not required
- Basic proficiency with SQL
- Power BI experience is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (able to manipulate and summarize data by making it meaningful for a broad audience)
- Sufficient time management capabilities required to meet turnaround requirements for ad hoc and standardized reporting requests
- Strong analytical skills necessary to derive meaningful conclusions from data
- Proficient communication skills required used to summarize conclusions form data extraction to be reviewed by a wide audience
- Thrive in a team based environment using a flexible and adaptable approach
