ESE Teacher - Grades 6-12; (On-site)
Responsibilities
· Facilitate learner growth through authentic learning experiences in the classroom that connect their acquisition of knowledge with the ability to be successful in college and life.
· Teach learners, lead small group instruction, develop positive group interactions through discussions and design projects to enhance learners’ experiences in the classroom.
· Accommodate and implement personalized learning plans for students which reflect the school’s mission and plans activities that allow students to apply skills to real world experiences.
· Use course data to track learner progress to ensure that the goals of the personal learning plan will be achieved.
· Implement lessons in appropriate, constructive, and an engaging manner to drive student learning and help students maintain pace and meet the standards outlined by student performance indicators.
· Be proactive by meeting and engaging students regularly regardless of a student’s pace and performance.
· Treat students fairly by meeting students at their current social, emotional, and learning levels and create appropriate, individualized pathways for each student to learn and grow at a pace and with materials and strategies that make sense for the student’s social, emotional, and learning needs.
· Provide the student with specific feedback that is meaningful and productive.
· Demonstrate the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the job by delineating pedagogical approaches and resources to optimize learner engagement and motivate students.
· Mentor students to maintain rapport and facilitate the student's capacity to build social skills.
· Models appropriate behaviors and maintains an ideal learning environment.
· Model professional and ethical standards when engaging with all stakeholders including parents/guardians, student learners, employees, and community members.
· Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders through direct and regular communication.
· Demonstrate internal motivation and resourcefulness by attending seminars, conferences, and participating and contributing to our professional learning community to keep up with the latest trends in education and pedagogy.
· Keep accurate school records and prepare and submit such reports as required; communicate with Head of School and parent/legal guardian to maintain consistency in the student’s learning and goal achievements.
· Promote diversity by using strategies and content that reflect various student cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and learning differences.
· Demonstrate knowledge and expertise of student information system (SIS) and learning management system (LMS).
· Demonstrates the ability to Work independently and as part of a team (i.e., co-workers, administration, parents, and students.)
· Demonstrate level of professional responsibility by meeting the attendance and punctuality standards set forth by the Head of School.
· Attend assigned school sponsored evening/weekend events.
· Acknowledge, understand, and fulfilled the duties and responsibilities of the position as outlined by the employee handbook, teacher guidebook, and teacher agreement, including additional resources provided by DME Academy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
