About the Opportunity

Job Title: Wintel/System Administrator - Level 1

 

Job Overview: We are looking for an entry-level Wintel/System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing Windows-based systems, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation. The incumbent will also play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the IT infrastructure in line with the organization's goals.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate customer's networks and in-house servers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely, and via phone.
  • Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire desktop systems.
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.
  • Regularly perform data backups and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, system firewall setup).
  • Maintain system efficiency.
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Train personnel on system usage as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of all relevant procedures and configurations.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of support processes, leveraging automation and scripting tools where applicable.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Entry-level to 2 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019.
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues.
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Certifications like MCSA, MCSE, or CompTIA A will be a plus.
