You’d be part of the Southern Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and Africa (SEMELA) Solar & Storage Section. You will be working with diverse customers and colleagues along the region.

DNV’s SEMELA Solar & Storage Team is growing quickly to meet the expanding demand for expert solar energy advisory services in the region. We support utilities, regulators, developers, owners and lenders with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, conceptual design & procurement support, and independent technical advisory services for either owner, lender or offtaker/procurer/regulator.

In this role you will be involved in the delivery of solar advisory related projects, as well as be part of an engineering team constantly evolving for developing/maintaining services for solar projects.

Most of the work will be desk based, but travel for site and customer visits will be required at times (estimated at 5% to 20% of your time, depending on the projects you are involved in).

Main duties will include but are not limited to:

• Execute and/or manage advisory services for solar projects, mainly focused on civil engineering and design tasks for independent and owners engineering roles. Report writing, technical reports analysis, structural calculations, presentations, site visits, construction supervision, R&D, courses, etc.
• Work with a team of experts for enhancing our competences and processes, as well as constantly improve our services for solar projects.
• Work the majority of your time on chargeable projects.
• Build an internal & external network to gain and share knowledge and opportunities.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
• 3 years’ experience in civil engineering
• Technical expertise in civil design and structural analysis.
• Skills in finite element calculation and programming.
• Experience must also include a working knowledge of civil engineering related regulations, codes and standards;
• Good IT skills, and experienced in using MS Office suite packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English.

• Desire for continuous improvement.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Experience in the renewable energy sector and/or the solar PV technology.
• Experience performing construction monitoring or supervision (civil and/or structural works).
• Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) for civil and/or structural works.
• Experience in Technical Due Diligence processes will be plus. This may include but is not limited to: site assessment, ground conditions, hydrology, structures and contracts review.
