SUMMARY:
The OSP Permit Coordinator provides support to engineering services through detailed analysis of designs and databases as well as a thorough knowledge of permit requirements for construction across municipalities, county and state agencies. This position requires a working level of knowledge in aspects of OSP (Outside Plant) fiber and copper networks. The successful candidate is responsible for identifying the design’s permit requirements and coordinating with appropriate permitting authorities to obtain required permits for construction of the OSP telecommunications network.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under general supervision of the Director of OSP Engineering, the OSP Permit Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a Permit databases.
- Work on various OSP (Outside Plant) projects to obtain construction permits
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Document permit processes
- Educate co-workers and vendors as needed on Permit requirements
- Create and Maintain Permit database
- Does related work as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES:
- 5 years of experience in fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry
- Ability to read and understand as build prints, and be able to identify permit requirements for proposed outside plant facilities
- Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and Shapefile functionality
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth.
- High School Diploma and or equivalent work experience
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and the ability to apply that learning to a task
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Mature self-management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow through
- Experience working in a team business environment
- Experience working as a user (not necessarily an administrator) in a database
