Summary of Job Purpose


The Repair Shop/Demo Lead supports the Sports Shop Managers in the daily operations the Sports Shop. They perform all technical duties inherent in the repair/demo shop as well as being instrumental as a sale associate. It is very important for this position to establish rapport with guests, provide accurate information, and promote product through successful sales. Responsibilities include being able to complete accurate cash transactions and turn-ins, consistently serve guests with a positive attitude, understand how the products we sell improve the customers’ winter sports experience, and the ability to be sales oriented through service at all times. This position leads both Sports Shop Sales Associates and Repair/Demo Technicians. This position is a KEY member of the Dodge Ridge Team.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge customers quickly and courteously, maintaining a helpful and friendly attitude at all times
  • Determine customer equipment needs; fit equipment to skill level, proper mounting and binding adjusting, boot fitting, tuning and repairing customer equipment and demos according to established guidelines
  • Resolve customer problems efficiently and tactfully
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accurately
  • Be able to pass all certification requirements
  • Operation of Point Of Sale system and assist in ensuring that pricing is accurate and current including any and all promotions
  • Assist in the leading and training of staff to be able to comfortably establish a rapport with guests to find out their needs, provide information and promote sales.
  • Promote teamwork among the staff.
  • Knowledgeable about the products, services and terrain Dodge Ridge has to offer, and accurately communicate this information to our customers.
  • Maintain a tremendous level of organization and cleanliness; adhering to and accountable for the proper care, storage and safety procedures regarding the use of tools and equipment
  • Maintain an attitude on the job that is helpful, enthusiastic, and professional.
  • Actively participate in weekly store/safety meetings and store product clinics.
  • Inventory awareness of floor merchandise on a day-to-day basis; assisting in organizing and monitoring daily coverage of the floor to insure sales and product support during hours of operation.
  • Have a willingness to help out in other departments, particularly the Rental Center, as needed
  • Shoveling snow after a storm, or maintaining the entrance of facilities


Job Qualifications


  • Must have ski/snowboard technician experience, as well as retail experience
  • Knowledge of ski/snowboard equipment mechanics and be proficient in use of all tuning, mounting and footbed machines and tools
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service, have strong sales personality and be able to sell all aspects of winter products
  • Possess advanced skiing and riding skills
  • Must have prior supervisory experience and possess leadership skills
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Possess, or have ability to attain, ski binding manufacture certifications
  • Excellent organizational skills, possess ability to work in a fast paced, task-oriented environment and maximize use of time
  • Must have cash handling, POS, inventory maintenance and loss prevention experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office

  • Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs

Work Schedules


Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.


When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) or seven (7) days a week.


Work schedules, staffing levels and weather conditions will dictate when lunches and breaks will be taken.


You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.


Working Conditions


At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.


Uniforms


To project a professional appearance at Dodge Ridge, your department requires a uniform be worn, including a nametag. Please wear both at all times during your scheduled shift.


We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job. We strongly encourage you to contact your supervisor for a description of the quality, color, and style of the items you are required to provide before you purchase them.
