The Marketing department creates passion and relevance for the "Dolby Difference" driving sell-in and sell-thru of Dolby enabled devices, services, content, and experiences across multiple constituents – partners, creators, consumers, and developers. A Creative Director at Dolby embodies the essence of our brand and business, where creativity is not only a vehicle to showcase our products to the world, it is our product.
What you’ll do
Possess a fresh and future forward eye for design, willing to take risks and experiment creatively
Lead, manage, and motivate Dolby’s creative department of visual design, A/V content, copywriting/messaging, brand guidelines
Collaborate with cross functional leaders across marketing and business to generate program and execute on program briefs
Own agency relationships and create effective work models leveraging in-house and external approaches
Develop narratives, strategy, and creative rationale to present to executive leadership
Grow our creative discipline, pushing Dolby into new creative territory that will lead to positive business impact
Hands on leader, who is willing to be on-site in an editing suite, at a photoshoot, in photoshop, and in the trenches with the team
Ability to generate net new initiatives to address business needs, as well as sculpt incoming requests from marketing leaders
Work with Producers and Program Managers to define, resource, schedule and budget programs
Be a cultural leader for you creative team and within the entire experiential organization
Put the spirit of the work and people first, be fluid and nimble, swim outside of lanes to be successful
Self-starter, who can take the seed of an idea and translate it into actionable creative strategy and projects
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a creative director or in a similar creative role
Hand-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design, video production, and brand development
Excellent working knowledge of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Final Cut, etc.
Interest in and ability to understand the technical / complex and articulate it back in a simple / compelling way
A heavy interest in movies, TV, gaming, or music is a plus
Agency and advertising experience is a plus
10 years of experience, inclusive of managing a team of multi-functional creatives
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $220 - 250K plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
