The QC/Lab Supervisor will oversee the Quality Control laboratory to assure Dole Packaged Foods products for the USA market comply with established quality standards.
This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office.

Responsibilities
Primary Accountabilities:
- Supervise laboratory activities and time commitments to ensure efficient use of the QA laboratory
- Oversee product chemical analyses and physical evaluations to assure the products comply with established quality standards
- Submit reports of weekly product audits for quality review and improvement to the appropriate divisions/personnel
- Review disposition reports and assure products made in China and shipped to the USA were evaluated and approved by Dole Asia. Takes action of and communicates discrepancies to the appropriate divisions/personnel.
- Reviews technical results and assures the quality of Co-Packers’ products for the USA and Canada market complies with established quality standards
- Conducts sensory evaluations of Dole versus competitors’ products and provides the results to the appropriate personnel
- Act as contact for Consumer Center department concerning complaints of Co-Packers’ product quality
- Provide feedback to Dole Asia and other Co-Packers of quality related issues
- Perform various laboratory assignments as required to improve product quality
- Develop laboratory procedures required to evaluate product quality
- Analyze results and make recommendations for further product improvement
- Maintain the QA laboratory instruments and chemical supplies
- Coordinate and provide quarterly peel force results
- Conduct shelf-life studies
- Assist Operations department with product quality related issues of Co-Packers products
- Assist in distribution and access to technical documents
- Provides occasional technical seminars
- Trains and supervises staff as required
- Provide technical expertise to marketing, operations, consumer center
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:
- 5 years experience in food science, chemistry, biology, or closely related area
- Comprehensive knowledge of the technical specialty
- Proven ability to apply a wide range of concepts, techniques, and practices to carry out objectives
- Proficient in MS Office

Education & Certification:

Physical Requirements:
