Job Details

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Directly manage and supervise the development and third-level support of digital technology within Dollar General; manage budgets for the digital technology space; and manage multiple projects and problems with all levels of complexity. Responsible for developing a team of senior managers, product owners, engineers, application architects, and analysts that will report directly to him. Effectively oversee the work of team at a product and project level; provide guidance on new technical development methods and best practices as the industry evolves; and partner with external vendors, contractors, and off-shore teams to obtain talent and technology that isn’t developed internally. Keep abreast of emerging technology trends and applications in the digital, e-commerce and mobile industry inclusive of site optimization, AI Search technologies, marketplace technologies, and personalization/loyalty to determine recommendations for Dollar General. May work remotely 100% from a home office location (anywhere in the U.S.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; and
• Eight (8) years of software development-related work experience;
• This position also requires experience or background in each of the following: 1) leading/managing large groups of people; 2) vendor product integration via API or XML; 3) planning, implementing, managing and upgrading website enhancements; 4) troubleshooting website and native app issues in a fast-paced environment; 5) mobile Android/IOS app development; 6) integrating websites to Adobe AEM; 7) consumer privacy; 8) objected oriented programming; 9) cloud development; 10) pipelines for DevSecOps; 11) designing customer mobile applications; 12) software design inclusive of scalability, disaster recovery, resiliency, obsolescence security, supportability, and suitability; and 13) working with and managing offshore resources.
