Worker’s Compensation Paralegal
Duties:
- Analyze medical records and legal file to develop case in consultation with attorneys.
- Preparing medical billing summary for treatment expenses of injured worker clients.
- Direct communication with medical providers, legal professionals, insurance companies, and clients (injured workers).
- Handle, analyze and direct phone calls, e-mails, and letters from clients, attorneys, judges, medical providers, etc.
- Scanning and labeling of medical bills/records, correspondence, authorizations etc.
- Ability to use computer system, including practice and document management software.
- Preparation and follow-ups on record/billing requests.
Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with filing deadlines.
- Multi-tasking, prioritizing, and time management skills necessary
- Experience with medical billing/medical coding beneficial.
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency (demonstrated abilities required if necessary).
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with clients, medical providers and staff, and other attorneys and law office personnel.
- Good analytic skills (review of legal documents, medical records, and medical bills).
Salary based on experience, includes benefit package (health & 401(k))
