Job Information
Partner with New Product Development (NPD) project teams and finance to ensure product costs are established and understood throughout the development cycle. Provide analysis to enable cross functional teams from Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to understand and make decisions regarding product costs early in the NPD process.
Role & Responsibility
New Product Development
- Partner with NPD finance managers and project teams to establish, analyze and communicate product costs during the product development phases.
- Work with NPD finance managers to establish detailed target costs.
- Ensure costed Bills of Material are complete and free of errors.
- Work with product development teams to review and validate product costs.
- Analyze changes and gaps to target and provide updates to development teams.
- Establish final product cost standards prior to product launch and transition control to Plant Finance Department.
Cost and Financial Analysis
- Establish, monitor and analyze product costs throughout the development cycle. Provide NPD teams with monthly analysis of cost changes.
- Analyze product costs, identify areas of improvement and make appropriate recommendations as necessary.
- Monitor impact from cost improvement projects.
Job Requirement
- Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Experience Required: 2-5 years in manufacturing cost accounting.
- Travel Required: 25%.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to adjust work assignments or schedules for self to meet changing work priorities.
- Ability to define an issue despite incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Effective communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues with a diverse audience.
- Knowledge of Oracle is a plus.
