Job Summary
Position is responsible for overseeing the processing of biweekly payroll for the Fire & EMS Department. The payroll clerk will be the initial and primary point of contact for all payroll related inquiries, discrepancies, and concerns from the entire department. Main function will be to enter biweekly payroll into New World for all of Fire and EMS personnel, and to resolve issues before payroll is finalized to reduce errors. When errors occur, the payroll clerk will be responsible for resolving the issue after researching and discussing with the Fire Chief. Must be able to communicate at all levels, within the department, and the other departments within County.

Requirements:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred - Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major field of study in a related discipline
- Preferred – Payroll Administration
- Two years professional Payroll Experience
- Preferred – demonstrated emphasis in Public Administration
- Preferred – demonstrated emphasis in high-volume environment
Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must meet all eligibility requirements established by the Board of Commissioners
- Possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License (Class C) and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR)
Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
Salary: $17.33 hourly, no benefits
