Behavioral Health Coordinator - Douglas ESD Douglas ESD is accepting applications for a Behavioral Health Coordinator to begin immediately. This position works 230 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 06/04/24 at 5:00 pm STARTING SALARY: $78,359 - $87,313 per year. Salary is based on the 2023-24 Administrator's Salary Schedule. The 2024-25 salary schedule has not yet been negotiated. This position will focus on direct student and community services. This position is dedicated to providing mental and behavioral health services, fostering partnerships with families, and collaborating with community resources to ensure the holistic development of our students. This role will ensure that mental and behavioral health care services are integrated into the broader educational system. Individual Student Support Support staff to conduct assessments to identify mental and behavioral health concerns, develop intervention plans for schools, and monitor progress. Advocate for students' mental and behavioral health needs within the school environment. Collaborate with educational and mental health organizations to provide school-based mental and behavioral health services in school districts. Family Engagement Provide guidance and resources to families on mental and behavioral health issues. Organize workshops and seminars for parents on topics related to mental and behavioral health awareness and support. Community Partnerships Establish and maintain relationships with local mental health agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers. Serve as a liaison between school districts and mental and behavioral health agencies. Collaborate with community partners to organize events, workshops, and initiatives promoting mental health awareness and education. School District Partnerships Design and implement mental health behavioral health programs with community partners that cater to the diverse needs of K-12 students. Facilitate training and support to school staff on mental and behavioral health referral processes to community partners. Engage in innovative practices and data-driven approaches to define and implement strategies for mental health and well-being. Identify opportunities to build connections and coherence of mental and behavioral health programming across all districts and mental and behavioral health partners. Manage budgets and resources allocated for school-based mental and behavioral health services. Develop and nurture a collective regional vision for sustainable systems improvement; increasing the effectiveness of school district mental and behavioral health programs to positively impact outcomes for all students. Coordinate the research, writing, and submission of grant and program reports in partnership with districts. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations. Complete required reports and other forms promptly and accurately. Supervise contracted staff, including behavior skills trainers or interventionists, and support their professional development. Supervise school-based mental health interns’ clinical hours. Accurately and effectively communicate the role of the Douglas ESD and the scope of its programs to personnel in schools and agencies, youth, families, and the general community. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from school locations in the Douglas ESD service area and may be required to travel on overnight assignments. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Valid Oregon license in mental health counseling or clinical social work. Experience in developing and managing mental health programs within an educational setting. Strong understanding of the mental health challenges faced by students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Douglas ESD has been awarded the Douglas County Working Parents Award for 2023.
