Job Description
The Food Safety Specialist plays an integral role in the overall success of Fairmont Foods, Inc. The main responsibility of this role will be to keep the food safety and HACCP plans current with federal regulations. This position will also play an integral role in third party audits, pest control, and other QA projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing and editing food safety plans related to SQF.
- Editing the FDA food safety plans and the HACCP plans on an annual basis.
- Assisting in internal and GMP audits of the facility.
- Maintaining documentation related to the facility’s HALAL, GFCO, and organic programs.
- Conducting food defense audits and camera audits of the facility weekly.
- Assisting the QA/FS Manager in investigations related to foreign material, expired ingredients, employee training, and data trending for the QA department.
- Managing the hold and release program of ingredients and finished products.
- Assist and be a backup for the QA technicians, microbiology technicians, and ingredient receiving technicians.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in the food industry preferred
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Must be comfortable collaborating with other departments
- Must be willing to learn new skills
- Must be able to become HACCP and PCQI certified
Salary : $39,600 - $50,100
