What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lean Advisor I position at DPDHL?

Role Purpose:

This role is responsible for the detailed operational implementation of varied OMS & CI tools & strategy. Supports operation with process improvement initiatives.Responsible for the delivery of training and coaching across all site functions to improve OMS/CI maturity. Identify and prioritize areas of opportunity within existing operations as part of Operations Excellence/Continuous Improvement activities to improve productivity, throughput, quality and flow of the Operation. Work with the Operations team to quantify the opportunities and provide support as required to ensure a successful implementation of the concepts identified to add value to the business and the customer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide analytical, problem solving framework & solution design support on projects
  • Ability to interpret data and derive solid conclusions from statistical analysis
  • Develop current and future state process flows to improve any functional area
  • Develop presentations to illustrate project scope, cost benefit analysis and solution recommendations
  • Inspire others to engage in CI workshops and daily continuous improvement with the right knowledge and tools to improve their everyday work
  • Work with the training team to create and deliver a variety of courses to various organizational levels
  • Leads troubleshooting for high level complexity problems
  • Manages Diagnostics activity for site
  • Manages the process of preparing metrics and information, and presenting to associates & operations leadership
  • Oversees project management for new projects and process improvements.
  • Identify and deliver consistent Continuous Improvement opportunities across site to ensure the program scope has a standard performance tracking/management solution
  • Working with the OMS Transformation Champions and Site Leadership to replicate process improvements
  • Provide regular VSM progress updates and related improvement activity
  • Provide associates involved in the Value Stream Map with the necessary knowledge to understand the overall Continuous Improvement Process, objectives and related tools / routines
  • Facilitate multiple workshops concurrently
  • Coaching the Operations Process Leaders to conduct regular progress reviews of OMS and CI strategy & projects to ensure sustainability.
  • Ensure the execution of the Operations Management System Transformation Process and
  • Continuous Improvement Process deployment schedule as determined by Leadership.
  • Ensure Operations Management System Transformation activities are aligned with: company, objectives and creates value for the company and our Customers.
  • Ensure the documentation of Operations Management System Implementation and improved processes in a format consistent with relative Operations Management System,
  • ISO and any regulatory requirements for site
  • Provide Leaders and Associates involved in the Operations Management System
  • Implementation with the necessary knowledge to understand the overall Operations
  • Management System Transformation and Continuous Improvement Process, objectives and related tools / routines and develop these competencies within the site – Educate, Train and Support.
  • Champion best practice sharing during the deployment of OMS and/or Continuous Improvement Processes.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Management experience, required
  • 5 years of experience in large scale Lean Transformation orContinuous Improvement/Engineering experience, preferred
  • 5 years of Logistic industry experience, required
  • 5 years of Operations experience, required
