The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for creating and deploying talent strategies that enhance the company’s capabilities to attract and retain a talented, diverse, and engaged workforce to meet current and future business needs. Additionally, working with all leaders on compensation strategies that brings the cooperative in a cutting edge and competitive total rewards position. Working with leaders on all areas of employee relations that encourage a high caliber of performance from their teams. A perfect candidate for this position would be an individual with a great attitude in communicating and working with people with a passion for all Talent Acquisition and Development strategies.
This position is categorized as Hybrid, which is a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work and duties associated with this position at both an Office location and their home. Will be required periodically to report to an Office location for meetings, trainings, performance reviews, etc., as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor. This position is exempt as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended.
Normal Day-to-Day Work
- Manage the recruitment and hiring process by the development of talent acquisition and management sourcing strategies.
- Consult with hiring managers and develop recruitment strategies for open positions.
- Manage a HR Development Specialist who is responsible for the preparation and posting of job openings on the company web page and other various mediums, utilize other avenues of recruitment to reach candidates.
- Will occasionally interview, screen, and recruit job applicants for top level roles to present candidates to managers and executives.
- Manage background and reference checks on potential applicants and make determination on whether candidates meet the hiring criteria.
- Promote the company’s recruitment brand through online social media efforts, community business events, and college recruiting efforts.
- Conduct investigations around employee issues and handles compensation administration while assisting with development of compensation policies
- Manage the reporting for the Affirmative Action Program and ensure compliance and reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with temporary and other employment agencies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleges and universities and participate in various job fairs.
- Organize and conduct employee testing and recruitment programs.
- Maintain up-to-date recruitment progress report, talent database and all related staffing communication.
- Create, execute, and manage a talent management program.
- Facilitate and track talent management processes, programs, and initiatives.
- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive succession planning strategy and program.
- Manage, develop, plan, and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive training, coaching and leadership development program.
- Conduct needs analyses, identify key skills, specialty skills and propose training needs accordingly.
- Facilitate and/or provide training to the workforce.
- Assist in analyzing turnover data to make recommendations to VP for corrective action.
- Assist in maintain a Human Resource Information System for information needs.
- Provide innovative techniques to automate manual systems within the HR function.
- Contribute to the overall strategic plan by assisting in developing recruiting, development, training, and retention strategies for the company.
· Monitors issues and concerns with employment law
· Councils’ employees in interpretation of HR policies and procedures
· Assists in development of compensation policies, incentive plans, and benefits - assuring compliance within the organizations policies
Job Qualifications - Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
· PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
· Minimum of five to seven years progressive, increasing responsibility with full life cycle talent acquisition and talent management experience required.
· Broad knowledge of human resource management and employment law principles, practices, and procedures.
· Understanding of talent management practices, organizational development models, tools and trends with proven experience leading performance management, talent development and succession planning processes and programs.
· Experience and knowledge of Compensation modeling and strategy and payroll activity.
· Experience using social media and other recruiting tools to recruit candidates.
· Ability to foster strong internal relationships with hiring managers and employees.
· Ability to maintain complete discretion when working with sensitive, confidential information.
· Proficient with talent acquisition and talent management computer systems and MS Office.
· Computer literate with extensive knowledge of MS Office and HR Information Systems.
· Strong ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
· Possess and maintain a valid NC Driver’s License.
· Ability to manage multiple projects in a creative and effective manner.
· Ability to implement work plans, make sound decisions from observations and carry out instructions.
· Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, work in harmony with many different personality types, and be proactive in responsibilities.
· Must be available to work in adverse weather conditions when necessary.
· This position is classified as a "Headquarters" position. Domicile must be within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within a 40 (forty) mile radius to any company office.
