Summary
DPS Group Global has an opportunity available for an Architect/Designer II to join our Albany, NY operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to help expand our architectural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client's needs. Provide architectural/design consultation in the planning, design and coordination of complex projects. Independently apply intermediate architectural/design concepts and carry out assignments requiring the development of design. You may also provide technical guidance and mentoring to Architect I/Designer I.
Proven success working for EPCM company in a similar role, supporting projects related to cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor fab, data center, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
* Intermediate knowledge in applying practice based graphical standards to contract drawings.
* Research building materials and construction detailing for correct applications.
* Intermediate knowledge of technical applications of building materials.
* Implement the development of presentations and construction documentation.
* Intermediate understanding, interpretation and compliance of zoning and building codes and contract documentation coordination.
* Ability to work with design teams on multiple projects at once and meet project deadlines.
* Intermediate ability to coordinate work and building systems with engineering teams.
* Successfully interact with the design team(s) and follow direction of senior architectural and project team members.
* Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
* Architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch), related Bachelor's degree from four/five-year college or university; or Associate Degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Architect license desired, but not required. If licensed, title will be Architect II, if not, Designer II.
* Must be design oriented with excellent graphical skills. Software competencies must include strong Microsoft Office Suite, with minimum of intermediate knowledge and practical application of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop and Bluebeam. Other relevant software programs encouraged.
* Must have excellent written and communication skills and be well organized, engaged, flexible and self-motivated.
* Experience interfacing with clients and coworkers, and delivering presentations, with the ability to maintain a professional and productive relationship. Demonstrating good interpersonal skills, being attentive and approachable is a must.
* Local candidates preferred. Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment required.
