Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Reports to: Associate Director
FLSA Classification/ Position Status: *Exempt / Full Time / At-Will*Exempt: An individual is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) because he or she is classified as an executive, professional, administrative, or outside sales employee and meets the specific exemption criteria.
Annual Salary: Starting Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000Salary will be commensurate with education, licenses, certifications, and relevant work experience.

Summary/Objective: The Dr Pepper Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated human resources professional with a passion for people and the mission of the Museum. The HR Manager will be an integral part of an exciting, fast-growing organization in the heart of Waco’s vibrant tourism district. This position will manage, execute, and optimize human resource operations that are crucial to growing the success of the Museum’s employee culture and 50 member team. As a key part of the Museum team, the successful candidate will build upon and maintain human resource processes to help the Museum reach its goal of being the premier place to work in Central Texas.
Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- HR management certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRL, CPLP, etc.)
- Two or more years of proven experience working in an HR function.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Valid personal auto liability insurance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in HRM software; experience with Deputy or similar preferred.

- Expertise in recruitment strategies, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and implementing retention programs to attract and retain top talent
- Understanding training needs analysis, curriculum development, and delivery methods to enhance employee skills and competencies
- Proficiency in analyzing HR data, metrics, and trends to inform decision-making, measure HR effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement
- Demonstrates ability to plan and implement long- and short-range initiatives in conjunction with strategic human resources processes
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and use discretion in interactions with staff
- Ability to analyze information and prepare effective, accurate, timely reports and other documents to support Human Resources objectives
- Ability to pass required background checks

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Senior staff and Managers in cultivating and stewarding positive employee relationships and work environment by administrating effective and efficient HR processes
- Manages all employee recognition programs to support a positive work environment
- Effectively manages and streamlines all new employee onboarding and orientation processes, as well as employee offboarding processes
- Input newly hired and terminating employee information into timeclock system
- Work with the Associate Director to oversee a comprehensive HR program that effectively meets the Museum's and 50 employees’ needs
- Coordinates all day-to-day HR activities
- Develops, maintains, and utilizes the Museum’s HRM platforms and other institutional resources to ensure effective organizational HR processes
- Works with the Associate Director to maintain and update all employee-related policies, handbooks, and forms
- Serves as an informational resource for employees regarding HR-related forms, policies, procedures, and basic benefits issues and questions, proactively communicating with staff
- Administers training programs that support positive employee relations, including new hire orientation, required pieces of training, and benefits enrollment
- Coordinates unemployment claims and hearings
- Maintains accurate and confidential personnel and benefit files
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Serves as a confidential and credible resource for employees to seek advice
- Represents the Museum at business and community job fairs and related events
- Actively engage in HR professional development opportunities to ensure the Museum complies with federal, state, and local regulations
- Obtain, review, correct, and post job descriptions with related wage ranges as necessary, working with requirements needed by various departmental managers
- Maintain and update the Museum’s organizational chart, analyzing for reasonableness with respect to the Museum’s operations
- Process employee benefits information with 3 party benefits administrators, ensuring that rosters are accurate and that benefits and rates are competitive
