Yard Foreman

The roles and responsibilities included for the Yardman Foreman are scheduling, repairing, ordering, maintaining, disbursing and managing equipment and supplies. The Yard managers apart from maintaining the yard facilities will also disburse the following tasks – upkeep and maintain the yard and parking areas, maintain schedule and delivery of equipment and supplies, visit job sites and retrieve tools and materials to be given to yard, performing routine checkup and maintenance tasks and managing yard personnel.

To follow all safety procedures and policies set forth to him and his crews, first here and last to leave to ensure all conexes, equipment ,and offices are closed and locked. To make sure the crews, bus drivers, and operators are fully aware of their tasks and duties. To maintain the yard and equipment as well as any delivers. To place any orders with engineer and or supervisor before its needed. To have continuing contact with supervisors, foremen from both groups Marine/Civil out on the islands and in the yard. Have the knowledge to operate different types of equipment ,crane signals and types of rigging to use.

The essential skills that are expected for this job role are the ability to identify and evaluate defective equipment, knowledge of repairs and maintenance, basic management skills, First aid and CPR knowledge, basic knowledge of computer software like email, spreadsheets and excellent interpersonal skills. A high school diploma with adequate work experience in managing operating tools and equipment will be preferred.
