Summary
Drive Engineering Corp. is currently seeking a highly motivated person to work as a Transportation Grant Program Specialist with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Candidates with an AAS, AAB, or BS degrees in related technical, accounting or planning fields are desired but not required.
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of work experience with skill sets identified in the essential functions, responsibilities and competencies listed below.
This position will be involved in the clerical duties and coordination required as part of the implementation of PennDOT transportation grant strategies.
Daily job activities are anticipated to include the reviewing and tracking of grant applications, budgets, reimbursements, project progress, and annual reporting tasks associated with traffic signals and other municipal safety improvement projects.
Relevant experience may include database management, invoice review and reimbursements, grant development and program management, annual studies / report development, gap analysis, data analysis, and similar skills ideally focused on municipal, state, or federal consulting in transportation or other related industry.
Candidates will require strong organization skills and attention to detail to identify, track, apply and comply with both grant requirements.
Tasks may include identification of grant resources, matching transportation objectives with those resources, application preparation, invoice reimbursements, reporting and close out.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Primary job responsibilities will include tracking and management of state-wide grant programs. Project management and tasks associated with project activities may include but are not limited to :
- Database management.
- Processing invoices and payments.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the grant programs are aligned with the goals and objectives.
- Interview key stakeholders to define problems and needs.
- Develop comprehensive requirements and solutions.
- Coordinate and work with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with transportation engineers and planners on project development.
- Familiarity with traffic signal design plans and projects is beneficial.
- Desired : 2 to 5 years’ experience providing state, local, or municipal program management services in the transportation, tolling, transit, or other related industry.
- Desired : AAS, AAB, BS Degree in a related technical, accounting or planning field.
- Strong technical communication skills, both oral and written.
- Computer and database savvy. Ability to learn and adapt to utilize PennDOT databases and programs as needed.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and complete work on time with minimal supervision.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, ability to research and solve problems independently.
- Outstanding time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Perseverant with ability to overcome challenges.
- Ability to quickly learn the transportation grant programs, communicate guidelines and provide assistance to applicants
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
Work Environment
This is an in-person duty assignment at a Drive Engineering Corp. office in Camp Hill, PA. Applicants may need to initially report for duty at the PennDOT Harrisburg location for training for up to 3 weeks prior to working in the Drive Engineering Corp. Camp Hill Office.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
