What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Drost Landscape?
We are actively seeking applicants to join our Fleet maintenance team. We're looking for motivated individuals who are able to work independently, safely, and with our team in mind.
As a member of our Fleet team, you'll be performing the essential functions listed below. Applicants must be able to handle the physical demands of the job (lifting, bending, crawling), and must be self-motivated as much of the job is done independently.

Essential Functions
- Perform the mechanical maintenance on all landscaping equipment.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and mechanical components.
- Identify and locate replacement parts.
- Attach and remove snowplow and tractor implements.
- Assist with shop, office and yard maintenance.
- Assist with the inventory of shop materials.
- Mount and dismount tire repair.
- Preventative maintenance and DOT Inspections on fleet vehicles and trailers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Technical Skills and Prior Experience (all preferred, but not mandatory)
- A minimum of 2 years mechanical experience or certificate from a technical school
- Experience with small 2 stroke and small and large 4 stroke engines
- Ability to troubleshoot engine, transmission and mechanical components
- Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Ability to operate landscape machinery and equipment
- Commercial Driver’s license, Class A with Airbrakes ideal
