We are seeking an IT Project & Support Analyst to support DS Smith North America Packaging & Paper (NAPP). The primary focus of the IT Project & Support Analyst is to provide oversight of the IT Portfolio of Projects and to provide Finance Applications Support for the Shared Service Center and Business users. The role will bridge non-technical and technical team members to maximize the application estate for DS Smith.
This role will:
- Be an integral part of the NAPP I&T function working across Packaging, Paper & Recycling, and the Shared Service activities.
- Provides oversight and guidance on demand management and portfolio health within NAPP – acting as a liaison point for the wider PMO function.
- Be the focal point for the Shared Service Center and business community to address matters concerning Finance Applications, including SAP, Readsoft, and OneSource.
- Facilitate the documentation of new requirements for IT Projects.
- Work closely with 3rd Party services providers to ensure continuous improvement, driving benefits in the service offering to users.
- Collaborate with Central IT functions and with other DS Smith regions within the divisions to ensure consistency of approach across the application estate.
- Works with colleagues in the IT Team and key business stakeholders to identify and refine appropriate IT solutions that will realize ‘value adding’ business opportunities. These may be within the existing applications portfolio or new components.

Key Accountabilities
- Facilitate design of solutions to meet business requirements
- Remain abreast of technology capabilities and business needs, promoting potential opportunities for use
- Understand NAPP business processes and how the current application solutions support these. Apply this knowledge to define and assure best practice across the estate, and to best solve problems; providing alternatives based on best practices and available functionality and technology.
- Work with business and IT teams to facilitate business case definition in support of proposed solutions; ensuring projects gain support and funding
- Participation in solution Design and Quality Assurance activities, developing ongoing solution fit to best practice within a DS Smith template
- Assist colleagues in defining acceptance tests which demonstrate successful delivery
- Support the transition of projects into “Business as Usual” (BAU) service
- Work closely across the SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) function driving alignment of NAPP solutions to wider Group templates
- Form an understanding of and then apply DS Smith methodologies and procedures
- Provision of training to end users in use of systems according to defined processes
- Oversee ongoing integration of solutions to/from SAP ensuring resolution of resulting issues
- Support non-technical users with communicating needs to technical 3rd party providers
Education & Certifications
Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Excellent command of written/verbal business English; other European language(s) is a plus
Experience
Technical Knowledge
- Experience providing application support to non-technical users
- Experience with AP, AR, and R2R processes, ideally with a manufacturing business context, SAP preferred
- Experience with Project and Portfolio Management software
- Thorough understanding of application process
