Job Opportunity: Logistics Engineer – Urbana, Ohio
We are looking for a skilled Logistics Engineer to join our team in Urbana, Ohio. In this role, you'll play a key part in enhancing our operations through in-depth analysis and optimization of material flow, storage systems, and logistics processes. You'll also focus on integrating customer packaging and shipping requirements into our systems while driving process improvements across our logistics and supply chain networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics and warehousing strategies to provide a competitive edge.
- Optimize processes and equipment to improve efficiency.
- Lead projects and process enhancements using effective project management techniques to meet strategic goals and KPIs.
- Design and implement warehouse processes and procedures for enhanced efficiency.
- Continuously improve material handling processes.
- Design storage solutions for finished goods warehouses to maximize process efficiency.
- Support and drive operational excellence through collaborative, cross-functional team projects.
- Specify and manage capital equipment purchases.
- Collaborate on product development to define packaging requirements for products.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics or warehousing (required).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma (a plus).
- Experience in procurement and materials management (a plus).
- Familiarity with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) (a plus).
- Proven experience leading and working in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (required).
- Willingness to travel domestically.
