The Portfolio Manager is the right-hand person for the Tribe Lead whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, orchestrating, and driving Tribe ceremonies (e.g., QTR) and ensures all materials are shared & communicated the right stakeholders, managing Tribe interdependencies and risks (internal and external) with key partners (e.g., Product Owners, Chapter leads), as well as reporting on the health of the Tribe in order to ensure optimal performance. The Portfolio Manager position in the Core Business Delivery Tribe offers candidates an unparalleled opportunity to manage a portfolio of modernization projects, coupled with exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to effect positive change within a leading financial services institution. In this role, the candidate will work as part of a tribe to manage a strategic portfolio consisting of small to large scale initiatives and programs being delivered for Fixed Income Clearing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Tribe relationship with product team
- Ensure the Tribe’s objectives, set forth by the Tribe Lead, are aligned with the key results developed by the Squads, Platforms and Tribe aligned Center of Excellences (COEs). Orchestrate and drive the Tribe ceremonies
- Facilitate decisions regarding the Tribe’s roadmap and maintain an outward looking (~12 months) view ensuring both work deliverables & financial forecast are accurate and complete
- Monitor initiatives and clearly articulate synthesized Tribe level information to members of DTCC’s senior leaders and any other relevant stakeholders
- Manage Tribe-level risks and interdependencies (internal and external) to minimize interruption to the roadmap, including mitigating risks when applicable. Build meaningful relationships with members of the Tribe and external stakeholder to resolve issues, leveraging rapport and trust
- Provide Tribe level engagement with key partners, including definition of interaction model, to ensure alignment to tribe commitments
- Manage team of Product Owners

Talents Needed for Success:
- Deep subject matter expertise in Fixed Income Clearing
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong business analysis and communication skills
- Familiar with the agile approach to software development, including standard ceremonies and communication methods
- Experience with re-platforming an existing service suite viewed favorably
- Embrace change, identify opportunities, and drive to continuous learning and process improvements in the Tribe
- Articulate information clearly and present information effectively and confidently, particularly to members of DTCC’s senior leadership team
- Mitigate risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
