HR Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other members of the HR team supporting the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: onboarding, recruitment/employment, payroll, employee relations and employment law compliance.
Your Responsibilities
- Assists in all recruitment activities including but not limited to identifying and implementing recruiting strategies, internal and external posting, candidate screening, interviewing, developing and delivering job offers. May also include representing the company at job fairs.
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities including proper department notifications, system entry and files.
- Employee/Labor relations to include investigation handling, grievance response and contract interpretation. Also the point of contact for employee relations issues and requests, escalating if necessary
- Benefits administration to include benefit questions, open enrollment yearly renewal negotiation, etc.
- Employee data maintenance including personnel file maintenance, processing employment changes and updates, pay adjustments and file auditing
- Manages the administration of the policies, procedures and programs of the organization.
- Conduct exit interviews or conduct post-employment survey to separated employees; analyzes the data and presents summaries to HR Manager.
- Assist in conducting compensation surveys as directed.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Employee / Labor relations experience highly desired

Kronos payroll experience a plus

Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite, HRIS, and ATS

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Ability to convey a positive, professional image to all internal and external clients

Must have high initiative, integrity, strong work ethic, good communication and analytical skills

Excellent time management, organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast paced environment

Able and willing to work well in a diverse environment

SHRM certification preferred
