What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Viticulture Sugar Sampler - North Coast position at Duckhorn Wine Company?
The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.
The Seasonal Viticulture Sugar Sampler is responsible for providing grape maturity field sampling and processing, basic field scouting and crop estimate data collection and entry for The Duckhorn Portfolio Estate Vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties.
The estimated timeframe for this seasonal role is July ~ October 2024.
What we will ask you to do:
- Grape maturity field sampling and processing.
- Vineyard scouting and data entry.
- Crop estimation data collection.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Understand and follow all safety protocols as outlined in the company IIPP and as required by OSHA.
What you will need:
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying climatic conditions and uneven terrain.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time and remain on task.
- Must be able to work outside for extended lengths of time during periods of extreme weather.
