Job Description The Second Shift Parts Counter Position is responsible for providing parts service to internal and external customers as well as our diesel technicians in the DFS shop by determining needed parts and accessories and ensuring proper parts are obtained. Hours are weekdays Noon to 9 pm. No weekends required.
Job Duties:
Use computers and catalogs to determine correct parts, pricing and availability of parts
Work independently to provide adequate customer service
Order parts via a computer or phone and make determinations regarding price, quality, and shipping availability
Check in daily stock orders as they are received
Assist internal and external customers over the phone or the counter with their parts needs
Ensure all internal parts requests are billed accurately on work orders.
Perform cyclical counts when time allows
Other duties:
Assist in keeping parts area clean, stocked, and orderly
Operate forklift, after required training and certification
Other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to spend hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
Must have the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
Must have the ability to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone.
Must be able to complete tasks that may require bending and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
Must be able to climb stairs
Must be able to spend 100% of the day standing on surfaces such as concrete
May be exposed to fumes and body shop related surroundings and other hazardous materials.
