TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) REPORTS TO: Program Administrator JOB GOAL: The BCBA facilitates the social/emotional development of low incidence students by providing comprehensive services to students, teachers, and other school personnel, and coordinates services to and for the families. QUALIFICATIONS: Board Certified Behavior Analyst Master's Degree in education or related services field Illinois Professional Educator License issued by ISBE (LBS1, School Psych, School Social Worker) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Other duties may be assigned Assist children in the program on an individual basis as determined by their IEP and implement direct services recommended Prepare group guidance activities for students Consult with teachers to share information regarding students social/emotional needs Consult with parents of children in areas related to the functioning of their child in his educational program and his home. Facilitate parent information and support groups as needed. Participate in IEP Conferences to facilitate communication regarding student needs Refer students who need assistance in adjusting to school to SASED for evaluation, followed by a staffing to recommend service Attend departmental, interdepartmental, professional, and community based meetings as requested Assist in formulation of annual goals and objectives addressing the social/emotional needs of students Coordinate referral of students and/or families to community agencies as per directions of MDC/IEP Participate with consultants in planning in-service for teachers in social emotional aspects of education for low incidence students PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult size body weight with two-to-three person lift). Position can require some degree of physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling physical behavior. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Based on the collective bargaining agreement set by the SASED Board of Directors. METHOD OF EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the SASED Board of Directors policy on evaluation of certified staff.
