What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner position at Dura Automotive?
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Material Planner at our brand new facility in Muscle Shoals, AL. This role provides high visibility and an opportunity to employ critical thinking in a fast-paced, highly automated environment. Specifically, you will deploy inventory strategies; assume daily management of supply and constraints, status reporting and escalation, supplier engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan supplier deliveries using PLEX
- Use plant systems to maintain supplier and material information.
- Monitor pickups and deliveries of material through 3PL portal.
- Act as liaison between plant personnel and suppliers to ensure on time delivery and address any delivery issues.
- Maintain and update accurate records of purchasing activities as required by current policies and procedures.
- Resolve receipt discrepancies through internal invoice portal and validate with cycle counts.
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with customer and supplier contacts.
- Perform all job responsibilities, duties and projects assigned, in a legal ethical manner consistent with current policies, procedures and industry standards.
- Participate in inventory and cycle count activities as needed.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by manager
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- MRP Experience is required – experience with PLEX or QAD is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of procurement activities and a general understanding of manufacturing activities / shop floor control.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
- Must have effective communication and analytical skills.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in production/inventory control in manufacturing environment is preferred.
