What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Human Resources position at DWC?
The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, based in Wheeling, WV, is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager of Human Resources. The successful candidate will develop policy, manage and coordinate HR activities such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, and training employees.
The Manager of Human Resources will oversee the onboarding of new employees at the Diocese and its related parishes, schools and charitable organizations as well as managing employee benefit plans. The Manager will oversee implementation of the handbook of Diocesan personnel policies and will work closely with legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with applicable laws. The Manager will ensure the submission of all required government reports, such as ACA, and will work closely with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools on issues related to those 24 locations.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience as well as at least 4-10 years of experience in a management position, preferably in Human Resources. Experience in Paylocity or a similar payroll and benefit management system is a plus. Other requirements include expertise in federal and state employee legislation, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and the candidate must adhere to the Magisterium of the Church and possess a clear sense of Catholic theology of work and compensation.
