E. C. Pace Company, Inc. an established utility contractor in Roanoke, Virginia, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Human Resources Manager (HRM) position. This position offers an opportunity for a driven and self-motivated HR professional to join a growing organization and support a wide range of HR functions. The successful candidate will help enhance our culture of strong performance, professionalism and employee engagement. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Attract, hire, and retain employees by developing a robust employee recruitment program. Ability to advertise and promote current job openings through online platforms such as search engines and social media as well as by attending job fairs and other related community functions. Responsible for setting up interviews with potential candidates as well as making job offers and communicating the onboarding process to all new hires.
· Research and develop an onboarding program for all new employees which will allow for proper assimilation into E. C. Pace Company, Inc and provide new employees with the training and knowledge necessary to be successful in their new role. The HRM will also oversee and manage employee relations at every level including employee grievances, conduct issues, and any other disciplinary actions that may be needed.
· Establish, maintain and manage Human Resource policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations. This includes EEO Reviews and other Affirmative Action requirements. Experience in working with government agencies is preferred but not required.
· Maintain all employee benefit programs and make recommendations for changes based on trends and improved cost efficiencies. Communicate with employees to ensure maximum understanding and usage of the benefits offered by E. C. Pace Company, Inc. The HRM will disseminate all official communications associated with employee relations. Must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to explain benefits to all employees both orally and in writing. This includes group trainings, company-wide presentations and one-on-one meetings.
· Coordinate performance review and merit increase process, review and track all performance evaluations, as well as conduct periodic salary surveys in order to effectively update job descriptions and recommend pay structure revisions.
· Provide guidance to leadership team in all HR operational areas including performance management, corrective action, and terminations. Coach supervisors and leaders on best practices in employee relations and professional development issues.
· Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus.
Knowledgeable in EEO/OFCCP, state and federal employment laws.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to effectively communicate with members of the team at all levels.
Proven experience with handling sensitive and confidential information.
