JOB SUMMARY: The Value Stream Leader – Inventory Control’s primary objective is to effectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned parts cribs by leading, directing, and training their members in the performance of their duties. This person is responsible for improving safety and performance of their members, improve the quality of their service to the shop floor, maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of inventory processes, and helping manage and mitigate any costs associated with Inventory Control.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assists Manager in supervising day to day operations for Parts Kitters and Picking Processes.
  • Ensures that all teams are on schedule with necessary picks in order to efficiently meet schedule requirements.
  • Instructs and trains current and new members in learning new skills and functions. Develops on-the-job training and determines when the appropriate skills have been learned.
  • Monitors each worker’s quantity and quality of work and counsels them to meet the established goals. Actively promotes good quality work throughout all parts cribs. Periodically inspects picks to ensure all teams meet established complete and accurate goals.
  • Leads communication between shop floor teams, kitting teams, material handlers, and Inventory Control Manager.
  • Drives inventory accuracy within parts cribs.
  • Conduct CANDO Audits for parts cribs and kitting process.
  • Assists Inventory Control Manager in developing and recording all necessary metrics for performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Track, maintain, and communicate all shortages to schedulers and planners.
  • Ensure that all parts are in the most efficient size bins and locations.
  • Manage cross training and ensure that all parts cribs have enough coverage to meet schedule requirements.
  • Work with cycle counters to analyze inventory discrepancies and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned parts cribs.
  • Promotes a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Develop an understanding of the product release and change order process to ensure the shop floor has the correct information and parts.
  • Assist in improving product flow through part routing and structure.
  • Trained as a user and subject matter expert within Epicor Kinetic.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A knowledge of inventory control/warehousing functions and a thorough knowledge with warehouse management systems is preferred. At least two years of relevant work experience preferred, such as leading large format store inventory. Must possess required technical skills, leadership abilities (or the potential for leadership), interpersonal skills and motivational skills. Must be able to use (or learn) manufacturing systems used in the department. Must exhibit excellent attendance, show responsibility in scheduling time off, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Must have experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Some bending and twisting are required. Routine duties will occasionally require lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads.)

The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member. Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.13 per hour
