Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Dining Room Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dining room. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food service industry, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the dining room staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Ensure that all guests receive prompt, friendly, and personalized service
- Monitor dining room operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room area
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in financial transactions
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Conduct regular inventory checks and order supplies as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry (hotel, catering, etc.)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in shift management and able to handle high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles and practices
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience with POS systems
- Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to enforce them
Skills:
- Interviewing: Ability to conduct effective interviews to identify qualified candidates for dining room staff positions.
- Food service: Knowledge of food service industry practices, including customer service, menu planning, and food presentation.
- Shift management: Ability to effectively manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Hospitality management: Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices, including guest satisfaction, employee training, and revenue management.
- Food service management: Proficiency in managing food service operations, including inventory control, cost management, and quality assurance.
